To be reprimanded by one's own child is humiliating indeed... Did I not tell you this was a challenge for me?
Well, here is the news from the "Patio Dwellers". We are deep into remodel no mans land. We have piles here and piles there and dust everywhere. We have been cooking in our outside kitchen (which consists of a patio table, a microwave and a box of paper plates, etc) We have places where there is power and lights and a place where we have running water----it just happens to all be on the patio :) This has been an interesting experience and if you ever think about remodeling I have new insights to share! While the contractor was cutting through a wall he cut the power to the furnace and air conditioner, when they removed the security system box we lost phone service ---- odd that we had to bring these little things to their attention. Last week I went looking for Dennis and he was pretending to be the AT&T repairman. He got the phone working but not until the ward thought we were avoiding all calls. The electrician and contractor were here late last evening trying to fix the furnace and air conditioner, and they turn on, but do not move air--- it is getting a little warm around here :( We are supposed to be done by the end of the month.
We did attend the 24th annual Lind reunion at Alturas and lucky us 3 of our married offspring (sounds weird to call them children) and spouses spent some time there. Good thing the vows were clinched before this experience! We love the additions we have had since '05---how did we get so blessed? Interesting to look back and realize we have been doing this since Bryson was a baby and now the grand children of those years are bringing their spouses and children to this reunion. It is funny to think of how diverse a family becomes --- 2 of the grandchildren have married spouses that hail from South Africa and New Zealand. Grandmother Lind, bless her pioneer heart, was there also and it is not easy for her. One family created a family cookbook and incorporated pictures from all the years at Smoky Lodge. Good times
My boss is retiring and keeps encouraging me to take a shot at her job. I do not know if I am living below my potential or if that is just not the job for me.
I am so looking forward to meeting Henry Maybon. (He is the "Splendid Grandson" that is coming in 6-7 weeks). Well, Henry's mother and I are going out to get into trouble this Saturday afternoon, so get back to you soon----if I can remember my log on.

So what exactly are you remodling? Wish we were doing the same. But hey, we are finally getting carpet back in the basement so that is something. By the way, when you say 'we are suppose to be done by the end of the month' is that done as in done remodling or done cooking? You ought to be well baked by then if that is the case. Air conditioning is such a blessing!
ReplyDeleteIt must be a younger generation thing. I harass my mom all the time about updating hers.
